Ronald Acuña Jr. had to cool off the scorching hot Orlando Arcia after the Atlanta Braves walked off on the San Francisco Giants on Monday night.
While Ronald Acuña Jr. is struggling at the plate of late, he did his part to try to cool off his Atlanta Braves teammate Orlando Arcia, who is hotter than Hansel right now.
Arcia had the tall task of becoming the everyday replacement for All-Star slugger Ozzie Albies at second base. #MakeOzzieProud is so becoming a thing now, as Arcia’s latest late-game heroics propelled the Braves past the San Francisco Giants on the most sacred Joc Pederson Appreciation Night. Like the Central Floridian city, Orlando is always hot and humid in the latter part of June.
Clearly, the best thing one can do is water Arcia like a plant to best allow him to grow and prosper.
Ronald Acuña Jr. gives Orlando Arcia all the agua in Atlanta Braves’ walk-off win
Believe it or not, the Braves got a cute, little winning streak going again. It may not be of the 14-game variety, but Atlanta’s 2-gamer is still better than what their four NL East rivals have done of late. These are just facts, bruh! The great news is that Atlanta finally beat a team worth a damn in San Francisco after destroying essentially National League cannon fodder over the last month.
What makes this Braves team so strong is it is a different guy every night. Acuña may be in the midst of a slump at the plate, but guys like Arcia are always there to pick him up. A diversified offensive portfolio will serve the Braves in the coming months as they look to overtake the most-hated New York Mets in the divisional race. Atlanta just might have what it takes to win it all again.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen what this year’s Braves team will become. The good news is last season’s squad was nowhere near this good this time a year ago. That group caught fire in August and September en route to the Braves’ first World Series championship in 26 years. Acuña may have been on the mend at that point from his torn ACL, but he could get another ring in due time.
The Braves had fun in the midst of the holiest day of our lives: Joc Pederson Appreciation Night.
